OAKLAND COMES UP SHORT IN DEFENSIVE STRUGGLE AT NORTHERN KENTUCKY

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Sha'Keya Graves scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting with three assists and two steals while Taylor Gleason added 14 points with a game-high seven assists as Oakland came up short in a defensive battle at Northern Kentucky, 66-59, on Thursday night.

Taylor Jones also added 11 points with three steals while Leah Somerfield just missed another double-double with nine points and nine rebounds and three steals.

The game was evenly played throughout as Oakland held NKU to only nine first quarter points. The Norse returned the favor in the third quarter after outscoring the Golden Grizzlies 17-10 in the second which proved to be the difference as both teams posted 24 points in the fourth.

Oakland travels to Wright State on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
